ok so yesterday my step-brother picked up his new mustang.. we went out cruzin and ended up racing coming down the highway. a good time went very bad,very fast.

i got clocked at 117mph and am now loosing my licenses, he was do'n 130 and i lady pulled over infront of him. he lost control of his car and went through the grass and back out onto the road taking oout 2 street signs. luckly nobody was hurt during our stupidity.

after that i promised myself i would never street race again. And i strongly suggest all my fellow motorheads to keep the racing on the track. there is nothing like a good scare to make you realize what you have at risk. i realize now that my brother and i both could have died that day.. or worse killed somebody else. since then i cant stop thinking of the "what if's".. what if i would have hit some caravan with 3 little kids in it and killed one of them? i couldn't live with myself..

so with that being said, PLEASE KEEP THE RACING ON THE TRACK. dont be as stupid as i was.

at least you learned your lesson thats the important thing. i had a buddy ****smoke a deer one night while he was street racing. messed him up bad. that was my wake up call. i didnt want to end up like him.

 

damn dude... that makes me really open my eyes.. ive only street raced a couple times and this make me really realize how F*** up it is... i know you guys always say that its bad and everything.. but i seriously dont see the point of modding your DD if your not street racing,, i guess, most just like getting a little worse gas milage??? i dont know i know about 98% of you are against it and the others are againsnt it but when that mustang beside you revs up you just want to stomp the **** out of it

so why have a modded DD if you dont have a track anywere around and you dont street race.. seems like your just losing a couple mpg

 

its all up to you man, i DO have a track close to me.. i was jus a dumbass and decided i would "stomp the ****" out of the mustang.. i aint tryin to tell anybody what to do by any means. it just really made me open my eyes and realize that if i were to wreck and kill someone and didnt have enough insurance those people could sew my insurance company and i could loose everything my father and I worked so hard to get (big *** house and gargae, a garage full of snap-on tools, a 72 duster twister, 2 srt-4 neons..jus to name a couple things) and not only that if i were to live i would have to live with the fact that i killed somebody's son or brother or grandmother.. dunno bout you guys but that sure as hell aint something i wanna deal with! so as for me, i aint racing unless my *** is on that track.

 

yeah we have a road back in the boonies, with only like one house on it that we used to race on at night. but since my buddy smacked that deer, we havent done any racing.

 

for some when they fix up their DD its not to street race but to just have a little more punch in the seat. example: noteverybody that buys a corvette races it. its just to have something exciting to drive, and when the moments arrive were there is noone on the street, maybe push it a little to get the adrenaline going then slow back down. A lot of younger people even older too beleive they have something to prove; like beating a mustang. which is were the responsibility leaves the house and stupidity takes a seat in the driver's seat. just my 2cents.

with my dohc neon i get into at least 2 or 3 street races just going up to downtown, ya gota know how to control your vehicle and know where your not going to fk yourself up.

Half the people who say this story opens their eyes will forget it the next time they get in their car. We all watch cop chases and see what stupidity can do and the crashes but we think it will never happen to us. Personal expirences are golden.
