They use to use different size carburator jets or other similar objects in the vacuum line to greatly reduce the signal. Then they wonder why their engines would go BOOM!!! You might think that the head gasket would give out before causing any other damage, but the turbos head gasket seems to be quite strong.

I have a Mopar magazine with a really cool article on an '87 Shelby Z where the fuel pressure regulator and the wastegate solenoid fail simultaneously creating unlimited boost. It was almost 100% stock, but this caused it to boost to, I believe it said in the article, 35 psi and it blew the engine at half track and coasted to a 13 second pass in the 1/4 mile. However, it apparently melted the head and pistons, I believe the article said that it actually melted the pistons to the head. The block was reused and suffered little to no damage. Now that's durability.

There's another Dodge on that list, my Neon is #5. Since that weekend she's gone a little
faster, best pass is a 9.84 at 145 mph.

Then you better get your new time up on there to knock the Civic/CRX off the top since your 9.84 has it's #1 time beat. Hurry up and get that taken care of, I want to see a Neon up there in 1st place.

Holy crap. Now that has got to be heavily modified. What do you have done to your Neon?

My faster pass's weren't at a NHRA race so I can't update the time's any, wait till
next year...

The car is a 97 Neon with a Stratus 2.4 swap and auto trans. The engine is fully built
with a big turbo and a little shot of nitrous. Havn't had it on a dyno yet but I'm guessing
it puts out about 650 hp or so.

It sounds close too. The guy was a little disappointed at runniing a 10.30 as I remember.

You gotta admit that it would be great to have a k-car that would shame the heck out of the Mustang crowd. I really used to enjoy embarassing them on twisty roads with the Shadow.
