It's a Big Block, I think it's a stroker with Stage 6 heads.

oh.ok...i have been trying to find someone nationwide that has the fastest NA small block...-my dad is intending to get 4.56 gears, and he is replacing the bottom end bearings, valve springs (about 7 years old) and the timing chain, which is at least 5 or so years old...so its basically getting a freshening up, new frame rails, and some new hoosier DOTs hes quite a bit lighter than me...about 75 pounds or so....we got a proform carb center last year, and i dont ever think it was quite dialed in right with the bad valve springs...he is intending to build it into the 11s without any major work...and that would be great...running 12.60s, i have not seen a SB mirada faster than me, and ive been to the nationals some 11 times...and countless chrysler classic events...and while ive seen a ton of SB miradas, and ive even seen some BBs slower than me...all of the miradas i have seen have been blown, or huge BBs that were running faster than 12.60...the only SB mirada that i have seen with more power than me was a blown 318, but he doesnt run it because "he doesnt care what it runs, he knows its fast"....

That's 82-92 and not all of them are as slow as you think even with stock motors. Just ask this SRT-4.

92 Z28 vs SRT-4

I ran 13.75 that run IIRC, I think the SRT-4 ran 13.89 I have the slips some where. After talking to the guy it wasn't one of his better runs nor was it mine but it was a good close race. That was my only SRT-4 race so far I was definitely impressed.

I usually try to tape every run I get in, sometimes they are from the inside like this one . That 3rdgen was only a 305 but still ran low 14s, these cars are a bit more capable than most give them credit for but definitely no LS1.

That was not a valid example, it was not stock. Those years of the Camaro were indeed pretty turd-like considering what they are and what they are supose to be. They could barely reach into the 14's with the best version and they were usually in the 15's. That's pretty sad considering that a stock 1st gen. 2 dr. Neon with the DOHC 2.0L runs high 15's. A small normally aspirated 4 cylinder econobox turning 15's is pretty good and fairly impressive, but it's rather sad and pathetic for a V8 (twice as many cylinders and 2.5-3 times the size CID or L) sports car that's supose to be fast and powerful.

Here are times for the '82-'92 Camaro's:
1982 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 9.7 N/A
1983 Chevrolet Camaro 9.5 17.5
1983 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 H.O. 6.7 15.0
1984 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta 9.3 17.0
1985 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta 10.0 17.0
1985 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z28 7.0 15.2
1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z 6.6 14.9
1987 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z L98 6.8 15.3
1988 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z 7.0 15.5
1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z 5.8 14.4
1990 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 6.5 15.0
1992 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 6.7 15.2

3rd Gen Camaro in stock trim were a joke. I used to go out with my V6 Grand Am and whoop them.

An LS1 is a beast of a different color. Sure it is an F-body, but the engine is just soooo different.

but it's rather sad and pathetic for a V8 (twice as many cylinders and 2.5-3 times the size CID or L) sports car that's supose to be fast and powerful.
Especially considering the amount of fuel it sucks down.
