Default srt-4 vs camaro Z28

I was down in town on the weekend and people was dissing my ride because i never abuse it and fly trying to pass everyone. Ever since they raced my buddys 1995 neon with intake, exhaust, Cam gears. They think they can also stomp on me. So the fellow talked and bragged that his bad old v8 would smoke my car and laid out a nice chunk of money. So my question is should i accept the challange or turn the other cheek and race another time

my mods = Boner stock even tho i might be able to get some good performance tires for the summer use only.

Camaro Z28 im not sure what year it is I think it could be a ls1 cause i dought it would be a lt1 so im going to say ls1 and i already looked under the hood its all stock except for exhaust on it

should we go from a dig i can launch pretty good with just a little wheel spin in first not bad as i have seen and the camaro can launch also so kinda afraid of that lol

should we go from a roll if so what mph would be good

and if there is no way in gods green earth to win what upgrades do i need to be able to win cause that money would be nice to have lets just say it may cover that item and be like im getting it for free

Too bad you don't know what year the camaro is and the mods they have done. If it's a late model camaro with just minor mods, from a dead stop or roll, my money is on the camaro. The camaro is a more forgiving car to drive than the SRT. Sorry.

Drag racing is not something to put so much concerned thought into. Relax and enjoy a good dragrace, and they start from a complete stop, by the way. This should not be about money. It should be about how well you can do with what you have no matter who has what. Back in the day, we had many nightly races and my buddies were older and had 413's, 348's, 383's, 409's, one 406 and the fastest was a '66 Chevy II 327/350, but fun as those races were, we would always get a hoot out of borrowing my dad's 1963 Belvidere slant six with three on the tree and racing Falcons and Corvairs.

LS1 will beat you with exhaust. sorry bro. read some of the chevy mags ls1 bone stock with stock corvette exhaust manifolds and 2 1/2 ehxsuaht made 406 hp to the flywheel. ls1 are very mean. i can barley beat my friends SS with SLP exshaust/throttle body and a K@N..

You should win, but it will be close. You have a better change from a rolling start. The Camaro has more torque from a dead stop.

Now if it's a late 80's or early 90's camaro with few mods. Lay the smackdown on him.

They have "duals" stock but like so many "duals" out there today, there is but one muffler so by definition they are not real duals. How many mufflers do you have? Even Vettes, a few years ago, had 2 into 1 into 2 "duals." The purpose of duals is not for looks. It is to reduce backpressure by having more exhaling ability for the engine. Nowadays the companies only care about the cost of real duals and the fake look of "duals" or dual exhaust tips, etc. except for very few with real duals. That Camaro came with 245/50 x 16's and should have had trouble launching w/o excessive burn but you have not confirmed you even had a race. Try him again and make sure he knows he is racing before he loses a "holeshot"???

If it's truely stock, it should be real close provided each of you are decent drivers. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
