so this morning, i had to return a video to blockbuster, and seeing as how the only vehicle i have right now is the ramcharger, it was me and the oil' girl out for an early morning ride...the store is about 3 miles away...and i returned the disc, still in my pjs, and as i went to pull back out, i saw a black SRT10 quadcab coming...he went past and i came out, cutting the wheel hard to make the tires spin, which they did, and i was surprised....we got down the road a bit, and i got just what i wanted...a red light. i pulled along side the ram, and he looked over, and smiled, pointing to his dodge hat, and giving me a thumbs up, which i returned..then he looked away...well, i did the only thing i could think to do...revved real hard, and as loud as the ol girl gets...he looked over and smiled...and rolled his window down, and leaned out, looking at my exhaust...(dual tips from a late model caddy, with a glass pack ) so i revved again...and he revved back...i could see him shifting and could hear that it wasnt a stick, so i thought, wow, i might have a chance...

if he doesnt try!

well...as the cross traffic tappered off, i brought the engine against the convertor...when the light turned green..i hammered it...and the tires spun! and thank goodness, he didnt try..and i pulled ahead of him..then i heard his tires spin...alot..and he caught me..running alongside for a bit..then gently speeding up, pulling ahead..then hed slow down, and i would catch him, and pass him..then he would pass me again..this went on 3 or 4 times...then he got tired of me, and really got into it, and took off...

i can now say that i led an SRT10 ram, at one point...id like to chalk it up to a great reaction time, and quality driving skills...but more likely, its because he wasnt trying...[&o]

i tried to get a shot liek amanda had with an SRT10 behind, but i wasnt ahead long enough to get that shot...but none the less..it turned out to be a fun ride...[8D]

 

Send me some money. I'll build you a 360 that will stomp that SRT-10 Ram.

 

i think maybe ill ask bimmerbob if i could have the old intake and heads to bolt on...we have also discussed putting the mirada driveline in the ramcharger...i think i would probably run in the 13s...

 

The 340 wouldn't make enough torque to be good in a heavy truck like the RC, at least the way it's is now.

The heads that are on that motor, the 360, are the ones you want. If you took those ones off and cleaned up the runners and ports to match the gasket would help a huge amount. The cam is pretty lame in that motor too, having short duration and low lift. The biggest thing with that motor is the amount of redneck technology it's seen, and the mileage.

 

like the screwed up carb/choke? would that 509 cam do me any good? and what about the 360 heads that are on the mirada now? bimmerbob doesnt think that the RC is all that much heavier than the mirada....the biggest PITA would be the fact that i cant buy gears for that diff. [:@]

170k-ish...but i had the speedo...i mean the speedo didnt work for quite a while under my watch....so the odometer may be off...
