OMG!! LOL!! I HATE to be awful Lampy... but being a Dodge Fan... your nephew is doing what I'd like to do to most Fords. Hehehe!! He is PRECIOUS!! And anyway... not all of us can have outstanding taste in trucks like I do... But at least you picked the faster one, right?

Welcome to DF... it's good to have another active member here. I hope no one offends you... we are all enthusiasts of Dodge and with that territory, comes some hatin' on other brands. But as I've always said, to each their own.

ive given him very little "crap"...i made fun of the area, but come on...old people=florida...its making fun of a stereotype that doesnt hurt anyone, and obviously didnt seem to bother him any. i wasnt trying to be vicious or anything else, but in my stratus, i have to pick my battles...we have a little boy here, and i hate that a**holes power slide around the turns near our house..so i wouldnt go ***** out in the neighborhood ever...i underdtand that ":tires spinning" had a bad sound to it, but its a low 16 second automatic...it doesnt do much spinning of anything.

and when someone comes on here and spouts off about having a fast vehicle, of course, i am always going to question it...i dont meet many people online who admittedly drive a low 16 second car...he made a comment about having a vehicle that would beat anything here, and we do have some VERY fast vehicles here...so of course, he will be called out on it, and by asking him to prove it, we have had TONS of people coming here..claming to own supras...lightnings...cobras...vipers...srt10 rams...srt4s...skylines...the list goes on forever...

The pic is priceless. I am also an active member of the Tampa Bay SVTOA chapter.

I fell in love with the new 300c and am desperately trying to get one (the wife likes not having a payment at this time). I love my L, but I admit, Ford is really lagging behind. Dodge is the only domestic company making anything worth looking at. And Chevy, are they still even around????

In all honesty, I completely understand, that's why I didn't want to even say anything at first. I will admit, I hate seeing young kids fly through neighborhoods thinking they are invincible. I never thought for a second that I was faster than everyone on this board, and I am sorry if that was the way it seemed. At least I was able to ruffle some feathers over here, don't hold it against me, I'm really not a d**k.

actually...chevy is alive and sucking...when i drive from my house, to visit my parents, i have to pass lordstown assembly...for those of you who dont know, that was the cavalier/sunfire plant, and it is now the cobalt/ion plant...i drove past the other day, and the supply lot was FULL of the goofy new SS with its awful wing.

lampy, while you would be hard pressed to find a car that will run like your truck does..(assuming that you have a blown lightning), the 300c SRT-8 really is impressive...both in acceleration and handling, it is a ballsy car, and handles great, considering its size.

on the other hand, my dad has a 92 bimmer 5 series, modded a bit, and even with 202+ thousand miles on it, it runs like a top...it sounds like you got a rare lemon bimmer.

bimmers are one of the few brands that could pull me from DCX..

(other than the GTO and the evo)

We have had a lot of warranty issues with the BMW. It does seem odd that we have had the problems we did, but I think you are right, we ended up with a bad one. I wll not get rid of my truck on my own free will. The 330c would be for the wifey, but I doubt she will go for the srt-8, even though it would make me happy. She actually wants to get the new Pathfinder, don't ask me why.

If you truly don't believe me when I say I have a Lightning, I will provide more pics. I am not sure I have any time slips, but I will check. They usually end up on the floor or in the center console and get thrown out when I clean the truck up. I'm not looking for excuses, just letting you know so I do not get called a liar later.

well, answer me these questions..

1. has there been enoguh troubles with the bimmer for it to be boughy back under lemon law? does florida have lemon law? a friend of mine bought a tibby and after the 8th sunroof install, that still working work, hyundai gave them a check for the remainer of the balance owed.

2. how fast is your truck? While i am **** about my slips, and i have TONS of them laying around, i do have my best time in a frame, considering that the mirada ahs gone from a high 18s car, to a mid 12s car...with a 340 running 87 octane...i just dont know anyone who races who doesnt at least have like the fastest time slip kept...but if you dont track it that much..i guess that it wouldnt be a big deal...

1. We do have the lemon law here in Florida, but it has to be the same problem each time we bring it in, which the dealership says it is always different, just happens to all be electrical. I contacted BMW once about it, and they told me that the dealership would have to fix it and they will look into whether or not the problem is something more. We bought the car for my wife because she always wanted one. Now it's too small for her and she really doesn't like to drive it. It's already paid off, so I think we will just trade it in for something else.

2. Fastest time in the truck was a 12.6 @ 105ish. It was done at Bradenton which is about an hour drive for me. I do not track it much. It is my daily driver and I'm not rich, so if I end up blowing it up, I have to listen to my wife complain as she drives me to and from work for awhile! The only time slip I kept was from the first time at the track when it was stock. The rest just get shuffled to the side I guess. Do you always run 87 Octane with the 340? I run 93, but when I go to the track I throw some 100 in it for insurance.
