ran the 1/4 tonight!!!
well took my 04 hemi GTX to the track tonight and was pretty impressed with her granted she only has 1800 miles on her but she ran pretty good, started off with a few 15.6's and was mad then i let it cool off and ran a best of 15.393, that's with CHROME 20's and 285's. Never had a problem spinning as i just held the brake and floored it and the converter only let it get up to 2000-2200 and then i was gone and had some impressive 60' times of 2.27's and a best of 2.263, but it was alright, i have a k&N drop in filter and exhaust and that's about it!! but have heavier rims and tires than most new hemi's as chrome is alot heavier than the polished rims and spinning weight makes alot of difference, oh and my MPH was 88.41 on that run and a top MPH was 89.03
IS THIS A SLOW TRUCK, OR A COMMON TIME FOR THE RIMS AND STUFF???? and it will probably get faster as the miles come in on it i'm sure as the computer probably is saying NOT YET, NOT YET!!
and there was a 98 dodge truck with gibson side exhaust, gibson headers, cold air, lowered, and i smoked him as we became friends during the night and kept racing each other but i smoked him every time!!!

You will be able to do much better. Your truck is capable of hitting 14.9 on a consistant basis. Track condition and temp could have played a factor. You may wish to wait until after 5000 miles to do this again. You should be able to do a 2.1x 60'. Your truck has not reached its full potenetial yet.
thanks for the info cause i know it's capable of more!!! and the track was just right, i didn't spin but once!! and the weather when i hit the best time was about 65 degrees and no humidity, i honestly doubt that the conditions can get better, but i know the truck will and thanks again for the info and am not sure how long it will take to get around 5K miles but will run it again after that!!
Saw a guy at ROckingham last weekend with a RC SB Hemi, 3.55, open rear with 17" steel chrome wheels. He dialed 15.3 and broke out with a 15.2. The truck did suffer from tire spin to about 60'.

Yea those smaller tires spin easier. Our 4.7 with the 17" rims spins more than our HEMI with the 20" rims. Where are you? Altitude can be a factor also, I know proffesional guys favor Topeka, Kansas because it's only 700ft above sea level and the temperature and humidity levels are better. I was at Bandamier Drag Strip in Denver, Colorado and all the drivers were complaining about the elevation.
