So I got into a race with one of these Cherokee things with my Durango. I started off the line just usual and my lane ends in about 100 yards so I got to get over, and this guy stomps on it and wants to cut me off right! So I hear his motor and look in my mirror and he is racing me coming on me fast. So I just have to reach down and press my tow to lock up my trans converter and stomp on the gas. I caught up to him before he meet my front fender and slowly pushed ahead of him. Our trans shifted at the same time and RPM and I shot ½ a car length in front just in a shift.[sm=itsok.gif] Anyway just got to rub it in.

Point of the story: Don't mess with the best!

 

That is sweet. I love a great ending. With a Durango vs Cherokee, what was that guy thinking.

I work at a dealership, and have driven a Cherokee. They drive weak, and the suspension
throughs you around in your seat ( Wobbles like). They suck to drive.

you raced a f'n jeep big whoop. if your durango couldn't beat a jeep, with your mods, there's something wrong.

 

why do you have to reach down with your toe to lock up the torque convertor? is this part of your mod?

 

No:

Not with my toe, the tow button on the shifter on the column. When you push it in it locks up your converter for when you are towing there is no slip on your plates in your trans.

This is the guy I was agruing with that drives a CHEROKEE! Ya it was a jeep that was looking at my tail lights as I blue him away.

Dont you mean to keep your torque converter FROM locking up? Locking up is what it does in the high gears when you're going a steady speed. Proud of you for taking out a cherokee, some do have your same engine though (5.9). Anyway i'm proud of you. If I may be funny for a second I'd like to ask you where you got your audio referencing tachometer from?
