Hey, it's just the way to go, gotta love the longevity, power and mileage.

 

I know, the next truck I buy will be a CTD. its amazing how much power you can get out of them

 

I live in CO and have to get emissions tested, that's the only time I've had my truck on the dyno and they only give you three points, but it came out to 303 hp and just over 700 ft lbs at the wheels with the chip and water/meth off.

 

A true drift is the fastes way around a corner.
Sliding around a parking lot doing donuts is not a true drift.

I don't believe that to be true. The fastest way around a corner would be giving as much power as possible without breaking the tires loose. Once the tires are loose, they arent putting as much power down, andthe engine is using a lot of energy to throw dirt, burn up the tires and what not. Think about it......do you see F1 drivers sliding around corners?

 

You obviously have never spent any time behind the wheel on flat track dirt.

You're right on the money there. I guess it's different for different sufaces. Rally races slide around corners, but that's to counter-act the slide that would take place on the loose surfaces. I should specify, the fastest way around a paved corner is keeping all 4 tires at maximum traction. Do you agree with that?

 

Only in a long race.
Drifting on pavement eats tires so fast you would spent way too much time in the pits changing tires. (thats why they don't setup the car loose in a long race)
Watch a short track sprrint car race on pavement and you will see them drifting on pavement on three wheels. (flying the left front)
Loose is fast but very hard on tires.

Years ago Penski put his indy car and a solid axle sprint car both with the same tires on a skid pan the solid axlesprint car pulled within 1/10 of a G in a drift as much as the indy car did much to everyones surprise.
