Default I lost to a silverado.......

Well I was at the drag strip tonight and I ran a 15.4 my first pass with a superchip and CAI (2200FT) and this silverado guy i was talking too ran a 15.2, he has a custom tune, posi, 3.73's, CAI, long tube headers, cat back exhaust, cam, stat and a yank2600 torque converter. I thought maybe I could edge him out and break my fastest 1/4 of 15.3 but boy was I wrong. We went to run and right off the start I started spinning and ended up running a 15.6 and he ran a 15.2. He was a super cool guy and we talked for a long time, I just hope to get my times a tad faster when I get my exhaust posi headers and 4.10's soon. How much do you all think that will help me out? How about when I get a torque converter and 6.1 cam?

what sad is that he has about 100x more mods then you and you still are pretty close at the times. If you had all the work he had on his on yours... ez win.

yeah that's what I was thinking because I think with exhaust posi and headers I could easily break into the 14's at 2200ft. It also may have been a drivers race though, he was a better driver than me. His friend was out there with a titan with CAI and a flowmaster muffler and he ran a 16.15 for his best time, I figured it would have been faster because of what all the titan owners are claiming???? He was a really cool guy atleast and all of us with different trucks got along pretty well.

Ya at my local street races, there are some guys that come out there with there titan's, chevs, rams, ect... all hangout together and are cool. I raced all of them, made some friends, and somked them. I didn't tell them what all i had done on my truck, no one wanted to race me, so ofcourse i picked out the titan out of the bunch and said, "you want to run them?" we all drove to a good strip and let them rip. I raced the titan first 5.6l, chev 408, ram 5.9 sport, and my friend gm 408, beat all of them with bald tires and no programmer by atleast 3/4-1 truck legnth, if i had some better hook ups i would easily had atleast 1 and 1/2 off the line. 2 when done.

But ya everyone is cool, and after i raced all them.. they where like "what all you got done.." i poped the hood and let them look... lol.

Damn...idk what gears you have? Get full exhaust then go back to the track. With the 6.1L cam, 4.10 gears, and torque converter...I wouldn't expect less than 13.5. Make sure you get some good tires...slicks even. Holla!!!
