Better castings, good price. You can get a pair for less than the price of one from the likes of Hughes, or Edlebrock..... They also offer 2.02 heads as well, for a 100 or so more.

I just priced them last night, right at 800 for eq monsters shipped. That's 2.02 valves and 62cc chambers. I was wanting to rebuild mine with 9.7:1 comp pistons but those 62cc chambers would bump me to like 10.5:1 or a smidge less and I don't think my local pump gas would like that lol. As far as cam goes you could call any manufacturer and tell them what you want and get them to come up with a custom grind. Unfortunately nobody makes one that I want, tank down low and highway screamer on top lol.

also, ordering the crane cam, and getting the odessa head custom built by odessa for my needs, with new springs to work with the cam!
Good to read you have things figured out! Right on! I hope you get a good discount with Mopar parts. Your going to have a good strong pulling motor under that hood.

been wanting them for awhile. 565 shipping included for a pair of new castings that are stronger than factory heads. also, odessa is going to custom build the heads for my needs. so for 725 im getting a pair of brand new heads set up for the cam im getting matched wih the hs 1.7's, and also ported and polished for low end torque!

So I was planning on getting the 2.02's and a cam, would I have troubles with valve/piston clearance with the stock 1.6's? Never really thought about it...

you have a 5.9, 5.9's have dish pistons, whereas my 318 has flat top pistons.

you will be fine.

Check piston to valve clearance during assembly. (have to sacrifice a set of head gaskets to the engine buidling gods though.) If you don't have the clearance, have the reliefs fly-cut a tad deeper so you do.
