Did you do a visual check for the ground wires or check them with a meter for continuity to the battery negative, I assume that you have checked all the fuses.
Well I think I found my culprit!!! The little clear box is something off the alarm/remote start system. It was zip tied to the bundle with the zip tie you see.... Don't know if it just melted the plastic or actually damaged The internals of it. And don't know if I have to replace that whole wire or just part of it. I'll update as I go.
Well this is getting nastier the further I go. The burnt wire goes into this bundle then up into a "tunnel" plastic piece that runs behind the gauge cluster and I haven't figured out how to get it out of there yet.
Ok so here's where we are... It looks like the melting stopped where the yellow arrow is.... This is right before the bundle has a branch that breaks off to plug that goes into the driver side plug of instrument cluster (branch is blue arrow). So I'm including that shot as well as the shot from the plug this wire originated from (not sure what it is feeding yet but the plug is above and to the left of the brake pedal and has a plastic cap on it with and underneath that a bolt in the center of it you have to loosen to unplug it). So I guess my question right now is do I continue tearing through my dash or do y'all think I could replace from just here back down to the plug. I also don't see where this has burned into any other wires just taken the insulation off this one. I completely understand this wire is part of the problem I'm just very concerned it's not all the problem.
