Default Can't Turn Motor Over By Hand??

Im trying to turn my motor over by hand so I can bolt the flywheel to the converter, but my motor wont turn? It turned over by hand to get the bolts off a few days ago and now it wont. I have no spark plugs out, im going to pull the plugs and spray the cylinders with rust penatrator to see if that helps. Any other ideas would be great.

Can you turn it either direction? If you are coming up on the compression stroke for any cylinder, you ain't gonna be able to turn it.....

Has it sat for awhile...?

Pull the plugs and try it. If you had a water leak, and it's sat around for awhile and there's anti freeze in the oil...Hello rebuild.

Pulled the plugs and sprayed with rust penatrator, I can't turn it the other way because the center bolt loosens, I have been using a breaker bar to turn it. Im going to let it soak a little bit, but im wondering why that center bolt is coming out, or why when I tighten it it don't turn the motor

the rotation is clockwise. if theres no corrosion, a good sized breaker bar will turn it over no problem, especially without compression.

if you have rust in the engine it needs to be dissassembled.

I'm thinking it's toast, I can spin my motor with a 12" long ratchet with the plugs out.

I have heard if you do not fully seat the torque converter onto the transmission, it will cause a bind.

What were you working on?

I second this, if that torque converter is not seated correctly in that tranny you will tear the TC and pump up and it will be rebuild time.
The TC should spin relitively easy.
