No PRND12 indicator and no crank, no start.

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi Automatic that was working and has already had a replacement fuse panel put in again (for the third time). There is no square box on the shift indicator and when you turn the key on, the lights on the dash do all come on and the security light comes on, goes off momentarily and then comes back on. Needless to say there is no attempt to prime the fuel pump or turn the engine over. I jumped the solenoid last night and the starter motor would turn over, but of course would not run. I don't know where the switch is that drives the PRND12 indicator, but maybe that's my solution?
Any ideas or help would be appreciated. I would think this is a common problem.
This old dog of truck has about 900+K on it and runs mint without any oil use when it's running.

Do you have any manuals for your truck, or know someone who does?
There's a procedure in the service manual for checking the display. It's called the Actuator Test.
I don't have the '05 manual, but i'll see what I can find and try to get a link for you.
In the meantime, Google it. Also look on youtube for it.
Also, there is a sensor on the transmission that provides an input for this indicator.
But lets see if it's a display problem.

Here's something from the manual to check if your cluster still won't come on:
(1) Check the fused B(+) fuse (Fuse 51 - 20ampere) in the Integrated Power Module (IPM).
If OK, go to Step 2.
If not OK, repair the shorted circuit or component as required and replace the faulty fuse.
(2) Check for battery voltage at the fused B(+) fuse (Fuse 51 - 20 ampere) in the IPM.
If OK, go to Step 3.
If not OK, repair the open fused B(+) circuit between the IPM and the battery as required.
(3) Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the instrument cluster. Reconnect the battery negative cable. Check for battery voltage at
the fused B(+) circuit cavity of the instrument panel wire harness connector (Connector C1) for the instrument cluster.
If OK, go to Step 4.
If not OK, repair the open fused B(+) circuit between the instrument cluster and the IPM as required.
(4) Check for continuity between the signal ground circuit cavity of the instrument panel wire harness connector (Connector C1) for the instrument cluster and a good ground. There should be continuity.
If OK, refer to ACTUATOR TEST.
If not OK, repair the open ground circuit to ground (G202) as required.

Hey Friar,
The cluster does light up, just no gear indicator is showing.
Also trying the key on and off routine to pull codes is not doing anything. Mileage just continues to show but no codes or even a "Done" indicator doesn't show up
??

I found that the ASD relay does not operate when the ignition is turned on. I tried jumpering the connection that the relay would normally make and when I did, the electronic throttle made a noise, the fuel pump was running andthe ParkND21 indicator box would light up on the shifter column. The engine would then turn over no problem, but will not fire or run. Seem to be a little closer to finding the problem, but not sure where to go from here? The ASD relay has power but does not operate as there is no ground? I was going to run a separate ground from the relay to energize it, but a friend said they switch the ground to control the relay not the power so I haven't gone ahead with that. I thought maybe the fuse panel was lacking a ground for that relay?
Any ideas?![Confused](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/confused.gif)
