Default 42rle transmission need help

I have a 2005 Dodge Dakota St 3.7 liter 42rle automatic transmission. when I first got it I didn't even make it home from the car lot before check engine light came on and the code p0700 P0740 popped up I did a lot of research on here from what I saw it made me think that replacing the solenoid pack, fluid ,and filter would fix the problem. When I pulled the valve body out one of the two accumulators Pistons that came down was pitted around the beveled Edge at the top of the piston so I looked up in the lot by the Piston came out of and noticed at the top there was a hole on the edge for the transmission fluid to pass through and it look like a piece of the metal around the hole had been chiped off so I ordered another piston from eBay. When I was cleaning the oil pan I know this a piece of metal not as shaving but a piece of metal that look to the chip for the accumulator piston came out of. Not knowing if that beveled pitted piston was the problem I put the new one in new gaskets the new solenoid pack on the valve body put it back in and tried to give it a test drive it wasn't popping those two original codes but now it was throwing p0733 and p0734. Research the little more I thought maybe if I put the input and output speed sensors in it would help. But when I went to test drive it first to second shift is fine and right when it was going to third it did the same thing I was doing revved up high and then went into limp mode I've ordered upgraded shift kit thinking that may help still waiting on it to get here but was reading that you have to reprogram the computer or something. I don't I don't know what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated . The first vehicle I've ever worked on it getting really frustrating...HELP!!! That's the piece of metal I found and it seems to fit the spots where the chip is. Any help suggestions thoughts?? The slot on the right . at the left hand side is where I believe the piece of metal came out of? Any thoughts?

Not Sure, but that chip looks like a piece of broken snap ring to me.

The only snap ring I saw when I took out the bottom body was holding one of the accumulator pistons in and it was intact where would you think it would have came from and where do you think I should look to confirm it is a piece of snap ring

Pull the input assembly and check the OD clutch pack. OD applies in third. Sorry, but the apply chart I have won't post correctly. Most likely operator error.

Default Did you find a fix?

Hey I know this post is old did you ever figure out the problem? Mine is doing the exact same thing. Looking for a miracle cure but I'm doubtful there is one. Get the feeling it's a replacement or rebuild.
