2012 Ram 1500 5.7L with CompCams Stage 2 Camshaft, lifters, valve springs and high volume oil pump.

After cam and lifter replacement with CompCams Stage 2 cam, lifters and valve springs and efan upgrade plus custom tune, I find my truck is overheating. More so with AC on. My thinking is I've just surpassed the stock radiator with fans capacity. I really don't want the big bulky shroud and clutch fan so what would be the best option? Bigger radiator???

Did that truck originally have an auxiliary electric fan buried in the shroud??

 

Yes, it had the Condenser Fan. It was replaced with the High capacity v6 fan as part of the electric fan conversion. Clutch fan was removed. Hence its running off the updated electric fan.

 

Will the engine stay at a reasonable temp if the truck is moving?

 

Yes, the problem exists only at idle.

 

Then its simple. The electric fan you are using, is inadequate to the task. Need a meaner one, or, another one.... (in addition to the one on there.)
