Recieved my HIDextra kit today. Purchased the H13 6000K Bi-Xenon kit. I installed it tonight and it doesnt seem much brighter than stock. It is bright, but not like other pictures I have seen. I have a few questions as the install directions weren't helpfull. When you take the protective caps off the HID lights do you leave that foam ring on for a seal or do you remove it before installing bulb in housing? I tried to install with it in place but couldnt get the bulb to lock in. It was getting dark and I just installed them without for now. My stock lights seemed like they were pointed too low from factory and installing these lights still doesnt give me much more distance than the stock bulbs did. Does it have something to do with the bulb guard that is stock inside the housing? BTW, I don't have fogs. Also, whille i was driving I flipped on the high beams and the was a loud humming noise. I suppose it is from the ballasts. But should it hum like that? When I turned off the high beams it stopped and went back to normal, But after 3 seconds I would get a quick flash as if I flashed the high beams manually. I think everything is hooked up ok. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or a step by step that they have done on their 09? It would really help. I included a pic of what my lights look like on low beam.

Yes, All questions were answered. I also used the search function and came up with the reason why my lights stock/aftermarket didnt shine more than 20' in front of me. The reason is because the factory has the housings aimed very low. 5 turns on the adjustment nut on each brought them up right where they should be. now the lights are SWEET! I took her out on the open road with socket in hand to see if I was going to get flashed by other cars. If I did I would just take a half turn off each time. But after driving dark roads, Highways, And through town streets for 45 minutes not one car flashed me from being blinded.

Sorry ran jr. I have no idea about the REN High Bus system, I just know that the ppl that are having problems are with that type of system. HID's in general should not cause any type of interference, they don't transmit a signal to block out FM/AM. What ppl are saying on here is that they have a total loss of stations. This has to do with the electrical system doing some crazy stuff, feedback or improper voltage to run the stereo due to a slight drain on inconsistant voltage due to the HIDs. I'm sure dodge know's about it. But a relay or capacitor will not fix radio interference, two different beasts. Right now, the relays and capacitors are designed to make the HIDs operate correctly. Not to ensure your REN is receiving proper voltage to operate correctly. If you had a stock stereo, I'm sure it would work just fine. There's other treads of ppl saying their REN works some days and others it's a pain and etc.

Hi all!!

I just had one of my customer wrap foil around their ballast and the interference went away, so for those of you who are having radio interference, try wrapping the ballast with tin foil and it should decrease the interference. Thanks~

An easy way to test shielding and see if it would help is as follows:
Wrap the ballast and the bulb wires with a few layers of Aluminum Foil (Reynolds Wrap or something like it).
