Default 3.9l stalling please help

So this truck is a 97 slt 3.9L

Brought the truck and drove it 21 miles home

No problem

The very next day the truck stalled at random

Call car guy to do tune up but paid to find out heads were cracked.

Replaced ecm, engine, radiator and heater core

Drove fine for 2 days

Then left my lights on battery died

Replaced battery and stalled when going into reverse

No check engine light

Idle sputters sometime

When driving idles to 3 aggressively then settles down

tow truck came to pick up my truck to take to shop and noticed the gear selecter O/D Wires snapped at lever

He said while driving it on to the bed that torque converter feels like its locking up

Could these wire cause my truck to go into auto shut down

Please help

No. Those wires just move the funny little indicator that tells you what gear you are in.

How old are the O2 sensors? Does it start ok, then start running funny after a couple minutes? Or is it funny right away? How are the ignition parts? Did you replace them when you did the engine?

It starts like a champ i feel a sputter around 500rpms
dies when coming to a stop or going into reverse and switching back to drive.
Ignition? I changed spark plugs
but nothing inside by dash.
also it sat for like 2 days b4 tow truck got here
and the driver couldn't get it to stall but said he could feel TC locking while driving it on the bed he said when he felt it lock up he notice rpm dropping as if its about to stall
Also when driving it before the problem came back after engine swap
the car feels sluggish when trying to get passed 40 then it feels like its shifting and takes off lol and then drops back to normal.

What plugs?

Might wanna clean the throttle body first. Disconnect the battery, pull it off, clean the snot out of it, especially the IAC well..... Put it back on. Hook up the battery. Turn ignition to "on", (not start) count to ten, THEN start the truck. Should figger out idle pretty quick, this method gives the PCM a chance to learn the zero values of various sensors. Might help.

When the engine was swapped, what did you do with the crank sensor? They are generally victims of engine/trans swaps......

other than a delay when you hit the throttle.
he said dnt worry about.
i know the problem is there im not crazy it dies when it feel like it. I didnt change crankshaft position but i have one new in my house

Crank sensor NEEDS to be a genuine Mopar (dodge) sensor. These trucks REALLY don't like the aftermarket fellers.

Crank sensor is the only thing i have yet to change
but would that cause a sluggish driving and why would my old and new engine both have a messed up crank sensor

Crank sensors are frequent victims of engine/trans swaps. If it isn't removed prior to R&R, they are HIGHLY likely to be damaged during the process. And of course, they are in a TRULY fun spot to get to.......

Problems won't always set a code..... Sometimes though, it's just a matter of the PCM figgering out how to run the engine.....

Intermittent problems are always the most fun.
