Not sure if this is what you mean but there's a picture of what I think you're talking about in this thread it is a Dakota, and an early one at that but it could be similar

Default neutral safety switch...OK this is stupid !

Cant get the damn electrical plug off the switch to change it out !
Cant find, feel,or see "the lil tab" to pull the plug !
I'm assuming its a "press down" tab as you pull ?
Cause of the linkage's,etc....its a one handed operation, man I cant get it ?

anybody "been there" ? whats the "trick" ?

yea...dup thread ....maybe ?
but nobody's mentioned how to get the elec plug off the switch !
Theres all kind of stuff about how to jump the pins, how to change the switch, how to this, how to that .......?

I've done a lot of work on this truck and my other vehicles,I've "pulled many a elec plug"....this one.....VERY HARD....to get to...even with one hand !
I know theres a "tab" on it....somewhere ? I cant find it,press it,pry it,see it !

Several mech's "advise" qoute " oh yeah,ya gotta release the tab to pull it" unqoute. GEE THANX BUD ! wheres the tab ? press it or pry it ?

Now I know this is a fairly simple thing, seems like I'm pullin teeth tryin to get an answer about "pulling the plug" though.Even tryed jus prying it off with a flat screwdriver....breakin the tab.....no go

Try using a small mirror to get a better look at the tab.
