Wrecked Dodge Challenger R/T Salvage Auction

With just 43k miles on the clock, this Dodge Challenger R/T looks like a relatively easy fix that could be had for pennies on the dollar.

These days, finding and repairing damaged vehicles is something that more than one YouTuber has made a living off of, with some skyrocketing to fame as a result of their antics. Buying wrecked or otherwise beat-up vehicles is risky business of course, but the rewards can also be great – which is precisely why people do it. Zak Bendaga of Bendaga’s Garage on TikTok is such a person, but he also spends his time perusing vehicle auctions and documenting some of the cooler and more interesting things he comes across. Recently, that included this very unique Dodge Challenger R/T.

As Bendaga notes, he sees quite a few Dodge Challenger R/T models at salvage auctions, which is pretty much what one might expect from powerful vehicles that can be had for reasonable prices – after all, not everyone is, well, skilled or responsible enough to drive a V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive muscle car. But this particular vehicle is unique in that it’s the first one Bendaga has come across that actually has the keys inside.

The reason for this, of course, is that the Challenger is a popular target among thieves, and as such, they wind up gettin wrecked or simply damaged and then sold at salvage auctions like this one, typically as-is. In this case, Bendaga reckons that the car was involved in a low speed crash that damaged the front fascia and fenders, though it seems as if the hood and some other parts may be able to be salvaged, if the new owner decides to go that route.

From what we can see, the front bumper reinforcement, as well as the core support lines that hold the headlights up are both in need of replacement or repair, but otherwise, the damage here is somewhat minimal. However, it does look like the previous owner (or thief?) used the car as intended, because the rear tires are pretty worn down as well. But with just 43k miles on the clock and the new car smell still lingering inside the cabin, this Dodge Challenger R/T certainly looks like a worthwhile project for someone.
