Hennessey Takes the Hellcat Redeye to Crazy New Levels

By -

Hennessey decides the Redeye doesn’t make enough power, and the result is a 1,000 horsepower spectacle that we can’t stop watching.

We’re sure nobody will be shocked to know that Hennessey wasn’t entirely satisfied with the 797 horsepower that comes with a Challenger Hellcat Redeye. As one may also expect, they didn’t waste any time doing something about it. Now, Hennessey offers the HPE1000 package for Redeye owners. To put it lightly, it is incredible.

However, you don’t just have to take our word for it. Hennessey Performance has an amazing video demonstrating the HPE1000 Redeye on the dyno and the track. Additionally, Hennessey is quite good about high-quality audio in their video productions. So, you get to experience every bit of the roaring V8 and screaming supercharger.

According to the Hennessey Performance website, the HPE1000 Redeye makes 1,035 horsepower at the crank on racing gas. Additionally, it cranks out 948 pound-feet of torque. These numbers are nuts, but what exactly does it take to get there?

The HPE1000 package includes an upgrade to a 2.65-liter supercharger system and an upgraded throttle body. It also includes a full exhaust system consisting of stainless steel headers and a set of high flow catalytic converters. They also install a high flow supercharger bypass valve, which is excellent, because you wouldn’t want all of that extra air getting pumped back through your supercharger.

The demonstration video hits all the right spots, too. They know exactly what we want. There’s a camera specifically for the exhaust and one for the intake noise. Hearing that supercharger wailing as it rips well over 100 mph down their test track is one of the most gratifying things you’ll see and hear today. A close second, though, is the sound of that custom exhaust. Everything about the noises this car makes is absolutely enchanting.

A slightly lesser-known fact about Hennessey Performance cars is that they come with a warranty. The HPE1000 package comes with a one-year or 12,000-mile limited warranty, which is pretty dang decent considering the insane power this thing makes. Though we don’t have an exact price figure, we have to assume the adage “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it” comes into play here. Whatever the cost, we can’t imagine we’d say no if it were within our budget. Who wouldn’t want to hear this every single day?
