The 3.9-liter Cummins 4BT has been around for decades. That means it’s an easily accessible power plant – both physically and financially.

Here we have a diesel Dodge RAM demonstrating its tenability and torque while going up against a modified Chevy S10. There’s just one problem though.

Even regular buyers have responded favorably to the 1500 EcoDiesel. They’ve only let it sit on dealer lots for an average of 13 days before buying it. The gas version is there for an average of about 78 before being driven to a customer’s home.

Kids these days. A 14-year-old boy recently took his grandfather’s Hyundai Veloster out for a joyride … through Syracuse, Utah’s Founders Park, almost clobbering innocent children with it. Luckily, he didn’t hit any. Someone hit him, though.

It’s a good thing Ram received more than 8,000 orders in four days back in February for its 1500 model with the new EcoDiesel V6. That means the bet it took on an oil-burning, light-duty truck – one on which competitors such as Ford, General Motors and Toyota declined to wager – paid off.

Ram has just formally revealed their 2014 truck lineup. The biggest news is the addition of the EcoDiesel V6 as a $2,850 option on 1500 models.
