Demon and Hellcat

Randi Foraker

  • Year & Model: 2016 Challenger Hellcat (Plum Crazy), 2018 Challenger Demon (TorRed)
  • What you do with it? I take the cars to car shows, cruises, cars & coffees. I’ve road raced (road course) the Hellcat and drag raced the Demon. Neither are daily drivers.
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? Before these cars, the most powerful car we owned was a Jeep Cherokee SRT8. My daily is a BMW 135i convertible. My husband has a 2009 Corvette ZR1– its horsepower and fun factor impressed me so much I wanted to try to exceed it.
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? So many favorite things to talk about! The hellcat is eye-catching because of its color, but I love the new Barton shifter and how loud it is after the mid-muffler delete. The demon is a blast to drag race and I enjoy the support I get from other racers as I am new to the sport.

  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? Favorite thing about my Hellcat: The feelings it gives me: vulnerability, exhilaration and impulse, behind the wheel. A perfect balance of comfort and insanity!

Hellcat and Whitney

Whitney Kellogg

  • Year & Model: 2015 Charger Hellcat
  • What you do with it? Daily driver
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? 2011 Dodge Charger SE
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? My Favorite thing about my Hellcat: I am 29 years old, a wife and mother to four children. I met the love of my life because of this Hellcat. My husband had no choice but to sell it at one time, and a year later we decided to look up the VIN number on Google. That’s when we saw that it was for sale 100 miles away. We went that day, bought it and it was ours once again. I love to go on cruises, casually drive in town and also dominate the roads when people try to rev their engines or race. Having this Hellcat brings so much Joy and fun to my life. It’s more than just a car to me, it was a second chance at life.

Hellcat Challenger Burnout

Stephanie Winisko

  • Year & Model: 2018 Challenger Hellcat
  • What you do with it? Daily driver and drag race on weekends. Some autocross.
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? 2015 Challenger R/T
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? My favorite thing is how versatile the Hellcat is. You can comfortably drive through slow morning traffic to work. Then when the day is over, there are 707 angry kitties to take you home in a hurry.

Rae with Charger

Rae Krasko

  • Year & Model: 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat
  • What you do with it? This car is a huge part of my life. I drive it to work every day, pick up the kids from school, drag race for fun at the Sacramento Raceway when I can, long distance travel (she’s taken me halfway across the US twice), I’ve slept in my car many times in many different states, I take her to car shows, participated in Mopar club cruises, and was a participant in the Hellcat shootout in Las Vegas for the Mopars at the strip in 2017. I have an Instagram page dedicated to my car (@hell_kitten_707) where I document how gorgeous she is and the times we’ve had together. In a lot of ways, I feel like this car is an extension of me, a representation of who I am. Just like the car: she’s functional and reliable, but has a wild side few can handle. Every great adventure and all the once-in-a-lifetime experiences I’ve had over the last two-and-a-half years have either been in the Hellcat, or the Hellcat has gotten me there. My license plate is C6H10O5, which is the chemical equation for a type of sugar (cellulose) that is tough and indigestible.
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? I had a 2009 Ram 1500 prior to the kitty, and a 2001 Durango before that. Mopar through and through. I would never own anything else.
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? It’s hard to pick just one thing about my car. I love the way she looks, the way she sounds, the way she feels. I’m comfortable, I feel safe, and I could literally just stare at her all day. My dad had a ’68 Charger when I was younger, and I have always had a deep appreciation and love for American muscle. When I was ready to buy, there was no question. I plan to keep this car for life. No one ever has anything bad to say about her, except my neighbors, who don’t like when I start her up early in the morning or late at night. But they can suck it.

Challenger Track

Jennifer C. Fuller

  • Year & Model: 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat
  • What you do with it? Daily driven, drag racing on a weekly basis, HPDE and road course, and have tried autocross as well.
  • What did you drive before your Hellcat/Demon? Before the Hellcat I drove a 2017 Scat Pack Challenger, 2016 Scat Pack Challenger, 2013 RT Challenger, 2012 SXT Challenger, and 2009 Charger.
  • Favorite thing about your Hellcat/Demon? I love the fact that this car can adapt to whatever motor sports activity I want to participate in, and still be a relatively tame daily driver.

Again, this is just a small sampling of the many women who own, drive, race and love Dodge Hellcats and Demons, but based on the information provided by these Challenger- and Charger-driving women, it is clear that the Society of the Red Key is not an all-men’s club.

"Before I was old enough to walk, my dad was taking me to various types of racing events, from local drag racing to the Daytona 500," says Patrick Rall, a lifetime automotive expert, diehard Dodge fan, and respected auto journalist for over 10 years. "He owned a repair shop and had a variety of performance cars when I was young, but by the time I was 16, he was ready to build me my first drag car – a 1983 Dodge Mirada that ran low 12s. I spent 10 years traveling around the country, racing with my dad by my side. While we live in different areas of the country, my dad still drag races at 80 years old in the car that he built when I was 16 while I race other vehicles, including my 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and my 1972 Dodge Demon 340.

"Although I went to college for accounting, my time in my dad’s shop growing up allowed me the knowledge to spend time working as a mechanic before getting my accounting degree, at which point I worked in the office of a dealership group. While I was working in the accounting world, I continued racing and taking pictures of cars at the track. Over time, I began showing off those pictures online and that led to my writing.

"Ten years ago, I left the accounting world to become a full-time automotive writer and I am living proof that if you love what you do, you will never “work” a day in your life," adds Rall, who has clocked in time as an auto mechanic, longtime drag racer and now automotive journalist who contributes to nearly a dozen popular auto websites dedicated to fellow enthusiasts.

"I love covering the automotive industry and everything involved with the job. I was fortunate to turn my love of the automotive world into a hobby that led to an exciting career, with my past of working as a mechanic and as an accountant in the automotive world provides me with a unique perspective of the industry.

"My experience drag racing for more than 20 years coupled with a newfound interest in road racing over the past decade allows me to push performance cars to their limit, while my role as a horse stable manager gives me vast experience towing and hauling with all of the newest trucks on the market today.

"Being based on Detroit," says Rall, "I never miss the North American International Auto Show, the Woodward Dream Cruise and Roadkill Nights, along with spending plenty of time raising hell on Detroit's Woodward Avenue with the best muscle car crowd in the world.
