Need help with 1995 avenger
recently purchased a 1995 avenger and it has been running rough. also when i reach speed of 40 to 60 kms it will start to jerk and if i speed up or slow down it stops.. when i speed up it revs high and then takes off. Is this a tranny problem? also need to find out which fuse is for the tail lights as i don't have a diagram.. any help is greatly appreciated

okay.....
First off check the tranny fluid. I once accidently didnt put enough fluid in when i did a change and it did that. needless to say it didnt hurt it when i did it. DO THIS IMMEDIATELY!!! The trannies in our cars are extremely rare due to a housing swap in the early productions. Hopefully if something does happen you have a late production 95 unlike mine. Check that first and if that seems fine post back. I have to run right now.

Hi, it does have a rough idle . will check the tranny fluid again..was told when i bought it that it had new wires and plugs but needed a distributor cap so i replaced that as well as the rotor..still runs rough.. Idles at 500 rpm's and feels like it wants to stall when stopped.. thanks for the help

Make sure your battery is of the correct size as well! Found this out when I first bought mine. My battery checked out OK, so I thought nothing else of it. When I came back around to the battery, I found out the previous owner had put a battery on it that was too small. Per our INterstate Battery application book: If your car is a convertable, it needs a batttery with a BCI GROUP 75 ( Interstate battery# MT-75 ) If your car is a hardtop, it uses a BCI GROUP 86 ( Interstate battery # MT-86 )
If the battery is to small it will not supply enough power to run all the electronics on the engine.
