Default Door Handle Repair

I just recently started cutting into my door handle to reinforce it with that kit in the sticky topics because one of my handles broke.

Anyone else having a really hard time actually cutting into the plastic and figuring out how to get it wide enough for the pieces without screwin it up severely?

I ended up havin to saw thru it multiple times (on the broken pieces) and used a dremel tool to shave down the insides of the pieces to get it to fit.

I gotta know if theres a better way to do it when i start my drivers side door handle... [>:]

YO! Hold up cut what?!! All u had to fdo was repve those outer screws around the door panel, the one inside the door grab under that plastic piece and the one behind the actual handle itself. After that that plastic outer triming around the door needs to be slide towards the front of the car and the gentle pull off the panel itself cuz the window switches are connected to a wire which is connect 2 the door. Then you could either unscrew or unplug the switch, then there are 3 screws on the handle and 2 lil thin poles that are behind it. I did't hafta cut anything at all. Wut u talkin bout?

yea i just removed the panel and the plastic then the handle came off with 2 bolts then i put the new one in peice of cake just a little tricky cuz you cant really get your hand in there to well its a tight sqeeze unless you have small hands or you know a diff way.

you have to literally slice down the length of the long pieces adjacent to the handle so u can slide those metal pieces in.

I saw that too . If you scroll down though, you can see what he's talking about and what he had to cut/saw.
