Default Need TPS specs, and codes

It looks like I'm replacing the TPS on my '95 with a 5.2. I need specs to check the current one first though, just to be sure. Also, is '95 still OBD1? Or do I need a proper scan tool to pull codes? It's throwing a code, it would be nice to know what it is, but I'll be damned if I let someone else touch my vehicles with any sort of tool.

check out https://dodgeforum.com/m_63384/tm.htmthey have the instructions and codes to pull them up without a scan tool.
Here's a chart that shows the change in the Absolute TPS% that the PCM sees
TPS Voltage Absolute TPS%

.44v
7.9%

.53v
10.1%

.685v
12.5%

.75v
13.7%

.82v
15.3%

Check your TPS voltage before doing this modification as none of the factory sensors are calibrated the same. We've seen ranges from .3v-.7v...from the factory. Connect a Digital Volt Meter to the middle terminal on the TPS sensor (with the harness connected and the Key-ON/Engine-OFF). If it's close to .7v...leave it alone.

Thanks! Great info. I'll run the codes and check the TPS tomorrow.

I just pulled the codes out of the computer (haven't checked the TPS yet). I got a 12 and a 22, 12 being that the PCM has lost battery power within the last 50 cycles (I disconnected the battery to reset the codes) and 22 being the CTS. But how the hell does the temp sensor make it idle all over the place and try to die?!? Temp sensors usually fail cold, which would just make it run rich, right?

GUESS WHAT! I just went and fired it up and it runs GREAT. ARRRRGHGHHHHH/HFLSDHDJGH I effing hate intermittant problems. I just know this one will come back and bite me in the *** when I least expect it. I think I should replace the CTS anyways though...

The CTS could not be your problem just a different one! Make sure you replace the correct one, there is 2 CTS one for comp. and one for the gauge. If you have idle problems check your IAC valve they tend to stick alot. Just take it off and clean up and spray some oil and make sure it moves freely.

I replaced the IAC valve already, that was the second thing I did after looking for vacuum leaks. My temp guage reads, I'm not so sure it reads accurately but it is consistant. Are there any diagrams around showing which CTS is for what and where they are?

I'll drive it around a bunch today and see if I can get the idle problem to reappear.

It's back, on and off. I'm starting to think the JET module might be acting up.

My personal experiance with the jet modules is that they are crap. The ones that connect directly into the computer are good. But the ones that connect inbetween the connectors like ours, are always messing up the truck. In the FAQ in this section. Gen.1 dakota there is a entire set of wireing diagrams.
