How do I post pics?
Hi everyone. There are some nice trucks in here!
I picked up a 96 regular cab last summer for firewood hauling and off-roading purposes. Located in Columbus OH. I'm considering swapping in an automatic. It's got a 318 from a 1979 D100, mated to the stock 5spd. Somehow for an Ohio truck it is 99% rust-free! All I need is a flame red driver's fender and she'll be real purty.
The picture upload link seems to freeze and I can't get it to work, though! Advice? Here's my imgur gallery: https://imgur.com/gallery/7UkjV

FWIW I like seeing things done different! I plan to put a 5.9 magnum in mine, instead of the LA version. My reason is the short nose on a 87 will not allow the longer v-belt accessory drive ....
Good luck with the truck, and glad to see you posting it up on here!!

Found this 96 4x2, 3.9 V6 Dakota behind the dealership in Shoal Lake with a blown and missing 42RE. Paid $50.00 for the truck and another $140.00 to have her towed home.
Previous owner sourced out the transmission sitting to tailgate then gave up on the truck after learning it would not work, in the meantime the original 42RE was lost.
On a side note when the vehicle comes down the assembly line a paper trail is created, this is called the line ticket with the Vin number your MoPAR parts guy can print this for you. The 96 line Ticket has three pages of useful information for the Noob.
Wesman Salvage in Brandon wanted $500.00 for a cut out transmission with a $250.00 core charge, transmission shop in Brandon had two 42RE cores and wanted $500.00 for a core.
Both business's still have their cores my search lead me to another Dakota, this one is a 95 4x4 , 2.9 V6 with a good 46RE that was rebuilt just before one of the farm hands creamed the drivers door with the swather.
Sight unseen agreed to $500.00, will be picking this one up Sunday, April 22 / 2018, pictures coming soon.
