Lol, I was just messing with you, but we'll have to compare final bills on this project!

I'll have an awesome pair of bumpers one of these days, but once I get this swap done, I still have a completely torn down '95 2wd waiting in the garage to keep working on.

Well then you'll definately have me beat final bill! I'm going with 4 inch lift springs for a 77 bronco, all new polyurathane bushings, new coil buckets and towers, and the POR-15 ain't exactly cheap itself. Then there is the 488s for both axles after I find a new 9.25" rear. It will end up being an expensive project, but I'll be doing all the work myself... including the gear swap on the axles.

What are you going to do for the rear?

probably an undersprung 9", im going 3.55 gears with no bigger then 35s. going to use stock coils, buckets and brackets. my reasoning is, i want to see the amount of lift im going to get, the 79 ford was alot heavier then our trucks so we should get some lift out of it.

im defiantley going to run a super high offset rim tho, like +40, because then i have some chance of my tires being near my fenders lol.

I think our total builds will be close, with driveshafts, im doing body work, the 360 (w/ mild bolt ons i think) and the fact that im where the whitestuff is, and heat in a garage gets expensive :P

That high of offset would be disasterous to your wheel bearings and joints. Its not a good idea at ALL. Your tires on standard offset aftermarkets will not be more than 3" outside your fender.

so your saying that a set of 1/2 ton diffs, that are already wider then our trucks wont stick out less then 3"...doubt that.

a 40 offset is a standard FWD rim, and they have no problem with anything.

Im using 3/4 ton axles and they wont. So doubt whatever you want.

And thats like saying that your caterpillars tires are different and they dont mind. Its not even close to the same system. Feel free if you want, but it even says right in my manual that running severe offset rims is bad for your axles.

Got the axle completely stripped down:

I'll spend the weekend pressure washing and wire wheeling the parts to get them ready for paint. I ordered the POR-15 this evening, so it should be here middle of next week. Hopefully the thing will be ready to reassemble by the end of next week!
