..Okay... I know I made a post.. but its gone?
anyways. putting a new (to my truck) diff in it the dakota.
I already have 1 ton rear leafs in it.. 6 or 7 of them.
I'm going to be putting 3.5" blocks between the leafs and the axle( obviously)
I drive the CRAP out of my truck ( see other posts haha)
Its always pulling something, dragging something, or going through something.
My questions are!
1- Will I notice and " axle twist" or any of that junk? in theory bla bla bla yeah... but has anyone actually had any issues with it?
2- Will I be needing any shims or anything with said blocks?

It's very hard to say if you'll notice axle wrap. The term axle wrap is actually a misconception... the axle does not twist, the leaves do. With that said, you are putting the axle a long way from the leaves as far as a mounting point goes, so that will increase any chance of axle wrap, but 6 or 7 1 ton leaves on it will significantly reduce the chance of axle wrap.
You don't want to shim the rear. Your pinion angle needs to be within 3 degrees of being equal to the transfer case's output shaft angle. You aren't changing the angle of anything by pushing the axle down with blocks, so there is no need for shims.
