I noticed the other night that when I held the high beam toggle switch, the lows stayed on. I like the added coverage of the lights with out adding more lights to my truck.
Eventually I plan on making a custom bumper for the truck which I have a design made up for but not any time soon. (with lights in the bumper)
So I think I will add the relay so the power from the high beams trigger the relay to turn the low beams back on. The amperage and voltage will not be any higher to the bulbs than when they are on separate modes so they should not have a shortened life.

The load will be the same yes, but the heat generated will be more than on a single mode which is what will shorten the bulb life.
The headlight is a one bulb unit? Never thought about that. I would only use it a max of 5 minutes down a long dark road on the way home from work. (driving at about 90km/h). Might hold off till I get my bumper built with lights in it.
Thanks

haha and your an Americana Yankee-doodle LOL . Meh its all good eh? We are in km and you guys are in miles. Funny thing is, we use metric when driving but in the trades, there is almost more use in standard (inches/feet) than metric. Go figure.
