It's just a China ebay WG, 44mm...

It'll build 1 or 2psi in 1st before redline, 2nd it'll hit the WG at 4psi by 3500 rpms and look out at 4K and up, it straight up throws you back in the seat! If I do step down on the turbine housing the smallest I'll go is 16cm, I'm really happy with the 21cm for the most part though. Besides, any boost in 1st and I'll be shreading tires.

Eitherway, so long as the gate works who cares if it's chinese made... 44mm is definitely enough to stall out the turbo. Oh trust me, you can feather in the boost with your right foot. Try dealing with 903ft-lbs of torque by 2k, you'll learn real fast how to keep traction or you'll spend a lot of money on tires. The thing about having quick spool is it makes it a lot more fun to drive and less likely to have you making excuses about "turbo lag"

Yeah I think I have enough wastegate but I also gotta be able to keep it out of boost when cruising and pulling hills if I want to keep any fuel mileage, I think if I go any smaller that's gonna be hard, same goes for hauling any weight.

True, I forget about stoich... Diesels don't have to worry about that and to a point boost while cruizing is a good thing for fuel economy. You may have to downshift to unload the engine to stay out of boost on hills; load has more to do with boost than rpm...

BTW, I see you have some forms of tuning the fuel/timing, but are you runnin premium fuel at all? The stock 9.5 CR is pushing it NA on iron heads... Let alone with some boost.

Yeah load is the biggest factor in making boost, hence little boost in 1st gear.

And yes I run premium, have ever since the Mopar PCM, the factory PCM is in it right now till I drop to a 180* T stat, don't wanna take any chances with detonation.

As long as you have enough of a stall convertor you can make boost easily in 1st gear. I have no issues whatsoever and turbo lag is non-existent. Providing of course the turbo is sized correctly to the build.
