Dakota Stalling.
Hi,
Sorry, by lower loom i meant the wiring loom that runs under the driver side of the truck back to the fuel pump, lights etc. there is a large connector located in the engine bay that is near the firewall with wires running down and under the truck. I unplugged this connector and using jumper wires checked resistance down the wire.
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2286109-post20.html this kinda talks about my findings. here is the
wiring diagram to help you:

essentially when I directed battery power down the line I had source voltage at the top and something like 7 or 8v at the end. there wasn't enough voltage to power the pump.
Let me know if you need to explanation I'll go into more detail.

My '87 dakota 3.9l has had reliablilty, starting issues, stalling issues, and ive been through tons of new parts, ended up with entirely new dist, wires, plugs, new carb. previous owner had same trouble for years, I took the dash apart to fix speedo, and found my module with a small black door on the end, instictively i took the door off and to my surprise there was a 9volt battery dead as can be, replaced the battery and it runs amazing, guessing the battery has to do with some sort of memory so the module doesnt run in "limp mode".

No.. but I haven't had the chance to replace the fuel pump yet. Everything else seems to be working as intended.
Hmm think the 95 has that?
On another note... I removed the bed off mine today and my son asked if he could try to drive the truck.... It hasn't stalled yet....
Ok brains smarter than me.... any ideas now? Cause I am baffled beyond belief....

pick-up coil replaced... so far only stalled once in 7 miles and wouldn't restart, I pressed down on all the plug wires and it started right up.. so hoping a wire just came unseated... but thanks for the info, this is the most the truck has run in 3 months!!
And what a pain to find LOL!
