Default My first 4x4

So Ive owned first a 2001 Audi A6 that i loved dearly but I had to sell for more money for a down on a house. Then i got a 1992 Corrado for 2K fixed it up and bought about 500 hundred in parts for it got bored and sold it. Then I got an 89 240sx with a ka24e in it. It was so clean i couldn't bare to drift it too much in fear of putting it in a wall. So i sold that witch leads me here, I got another 89 240 with a silvia front end and an sr20det turbo motor and blew the turbo within a couple days (weekend drifter) so used that excuse to do some much needed work to it so it now looks like this

so then began the hunt for a 1000 dollar vehicle. It took about two weeks and looking at many cars an trucks till i found my Dakota. Im still undecided wether i wanna keep it or not so dont hate if i disappear lmao.

pic's cause everyone likes pic's

when i first got it

after new windshield (blue tape)

Not bad for 950$, but i've got some work ahead of me. When i got it here is a list of the things that were wrong with it
-Busted to **** windshield
-No passenger window
-Windows work intermittently
-Dirty interior and no back seat remnats of a stereo system (wiring going every witch way)
-Spray painted dash bezels
-PO matt blacked the entire truck
- ****ty headliner
I think thats all.
I still can figure out why the windows are all ****ty like but the AC and heater work so its not a huge deal. Ill have to live with the matt black paint. I put a passenger window in and just pushed it all the way up. New windshield. 130 bucks at pick and pull so the interior is looking wayyy better. Still some work to do tho. Truck Runs AMAZING so im not worried about anything mechanical.

My plans are to put 2nd gen Dakota seats in it and retro fit the carpet and sun visors. Also a Durango or 2'nd Gen Dakota rear end swap. 2 inch body lift and 32's. Eventually a Solid axle front swap.

The Fac and Mod section on this forum has been the best i have ever seen on a forum so thanks!

Cool sounds like a good project. As for the rearend it depends on what it came off of. The Ram axle is a little wider. And depending if it was 2wd or 4wd you may need new spring perches and a little more work.

Ok ill have to ask. Winter will be here soon so my first venture will be finding a way to lift it 2 inches or so to fit some 32's under it. I'd like to not use blocks but i dont have a lot of cash to drop on a crazy lift.. any ideas?

The FAQ2 had all the lift ideas listed.

Body lift kit 2in for under $100.

Best for good price is crank up your stock torsion bars, 1-2in front(free). Add A Leaf kit out back 1-2in($50).

$150 for a 4in lift.

Yea i was lookin in there and saw the one you did. was that the one for 150? Id rather not use blocks. Im still new to trucks and lifting. Usually i slam cars. I read through all the FAQ on lifting and its still a bit confusing. Can you provide a bit more insight on the 4 inch lift for 150? i have a friend who has a wire welder. Unfortunately i cant afford one right now.

I love your wheels! I've been looking all over for 16s on 2001-2004 Dakotas and Durangos and keep on running into dead ends. They sell really fast, but still you have a great truck, I want a 4x4 bad.

I did a SAS Solid Axle Swap. Tons of work and money. You can easily get to where I was before that.
