Smile 94 dakota 2wd no overdrive (SOLVED)thx guys

Hello everyone im new to the forums i just bought a 94 dakota 2wd 5.2l and my overdrive does not work. now i have spent like 6hours reading threw these forums for solutions. tried a couple and no luck so here is my question im missing the buzzurd module from the fuse box do you guys think that could be related? i saw a couple wiring diagrams and looks like the overdrive is connected with that module? but i could have read that wrong. ill update with engine trouble codes tomorrow also my tach will go to 0 rpm every once in a while, and my temp gauge is only ready 1/4 heat it should be in the middle of the gauge right i did replace thermostat but its unchanged the cooling system is under pressure tho and hot as hell when i grab he upper hose

i just noticed also that my radiator has 2 lines were the transmission lines would hook up but nothing is hooked in to them is this tranny supposed to be hooked into the transmission cooler its a 46rh tranny

Find the OD connector at trans..Its just to the rear of the shift lever at transmission...There is a 3 pin connector and an 8 pin...They diagnose completely different....

Yes check the engine codes, it could be a simple wire problem to a fuse or a bad speed sensor.

Yes if the transmission is an automatic you should have fluid cooler lines to the transmission. Maybe OD is burnt out since the transmission oil can't cool down.

When you get your sensor installed and if it still not working, remove the 3 wire connector and make sure you have 12V on the center wire.....

Those wires split off and that is probably ok, .........Now the 3 wire terminal I am referring too is real close to the rear cooling line fitting at the rear of the transmission case and plugs in the case vertically......
