Default Headliner Board

Hello,

I actually destroyed the headliner foam board to my 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport and have been searching online all day for one.

Does anyone know where I can get a new/used one?

Thanks, Carol

Your best bet for speed/price is going to be going to the junkyard. Search around and go take a look, you might find a few other pieces at a good price while you're there, plus you'll have an idea of whats available for future projects.

Sounds about right.

Before heading out to the junk yard, does anyone know what other year(s) besides the 1994 Dodge Dakota Sport has the same size/spec headliner board?

Thanks in advance, Carol

92-96 will all match for sure and 87-91 will likely match as well.

I'd recommend taking the busted one with you to compare. Definitly make sure to call ahead and verify that they have a dak or two on the lot.

Happy hunting!

Oh, VERY good.... thank you. I have to take the busted one out of the trash now and try to tape it together ; - ) (icky fiberglass thing).

Someone offered to take me "hunting" next week... now THAT's a good friend.

I'll let you know what happens!

Default No Luck

So, after trudging around 5 junkyards and nearly sweating to death in the Northeast sun and heat, I had no luck in finding a headliner board for the '94 Dodge Dakota. One yard said "we pick them up with a forklift" thus destroying the part I am seeking.

For now I will keep the clean, stripped down look with nothing between me and the cab roof. At some point I may try to get inventive, but me thinks anything I do to create an unofficial headliner board will look pretty tacky.

If you have your template, a piece of 1/4" MDF will "bend" into the shape you need.

Where are you located? I found mine at a junkyard here in NE Wisconsin. I am sure there is more out where I found mine.

Default Oh, I wish I were in Wisconsin...

Unfortunately, I am in Northern Delaware, but thanks for the information.

I'm OK with the industrial look for now... it finally rained, and that sounded kinda cool on the roof!

I"m not going to attempt a fix with MDF... I understand that formaldehyde is somehow involved in its manufacture.

In the fall I may call around to yards in south Jersey.

Default Headliner board found!

A very good friend found one in a Cecil County, MD junk yard. It came out of a '91 Dakota.

It is now at the upholstery shop in Newport, DE, getting a new headliner!
