New 90 Vert Owner - Engine Swap
Well it was a shot, can't blame a guy for trying. Lol. Really want those flares.
Any chance you've decided on using those flares or not?
Hello again....I was travelling from September to December for work and had close to zero time to work on the Dak....However, in November, I got her off to paint, and just this week, it's Back!!! Now that it has such a nice paint job, it's depressing to see all the little detail work that lies ahead to bring the rest of the truck up to snuff. Weatherstripping, door handles, lights, etc. The fenders, core and hood are still off the truck, but the bed and doors are back on. Next up to replace the top. I'll post some pics soon of the paint. Doing a fantastic custom ink work on the hood that my wife wanted and really excited how it's turning out. You'll either love it or hate it.
For now, if anyone has recommendations where to find:
Headlights and reflectors (94 style since I did a front swap)
Hood Insulator (94 also)
Door Handle pulls (or maybe rechrome the ones I have?)
Weather stripping...can anyone tell me what is common between hard tops and verts...most of the kits available specifically say does not fit vert. So what could be shared and what I would have to find special.

Now that I have the truck back and painted, I'm going to mock up the flares to see how they look. But I'm leaning towards not using them unless they knock my socks off. Truck looks so clean with the fresh paint.
Headlights and reflectors, I'd check RockAuto (hint: Look at "Headlight Doors" for the surrounds).
Hood insulator - That's a tough one. Only guy I knew making them, had a heart attack and quit. (He's still alive, and plans to stay that way!)
I have NO idea, but I'd bet anything in the window channel?

I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-1996-DO...-/330807465763
No Picture unfortunately
The lower door weather stripping is the same.
The upper section is not.
I vaguely plan on buying a roll of stripping with the same extrusion profile for the straight areas of the upper section, and use a 3D printer to create moulds to make the corners etc. The glue them together into a single piece.
Belt line weather stripping for the glass is longer on the convertible than it is on the hard tops.
I plan on modifying that part from a 90's Dodge Ram since it's close in age, easier to find, and long enough for the convertible Dakota.
Years ago I made a half hearted attempt at trying to find out who made the originals for Chrysler. I had no success.
