That's still a good price. Its not a cold air intake that, but a short ram intake. Still, $35 ain't bad. Always easy enough to add to it to get it cold air. Because I'd like to get rid of the hat and that ribbed intake.

Well, Toby, if it's not brought up to the front, exactly WHERE does the "cold" air come from?

Consider that carefully ...

What are you on about? That's a short intake he listed, draws hot air from the engine bay. Not ambient air like factory.

Yep, that's what he has.

How do you get rid of the hat, then?

I'm talking about ditching the big factory hat with the filter inside and getting the smaller set up listed.

Ah. The filter canister.

That thing on top of the throttle body is the throttle body cap, BTW.

Hence my bit of confusion.

You're correct, it's not actually a CAI. But technically, its not a short ram intake either, as that term infers that the incoming air pressure is increased by a "ram" effect.

We could call it an air sucking system...

I prefer a "HAI" - Hot Air Intake. *grins*

Like you said though, still not a bad price. Easy enough to add piping to make it a cold air intake.
