Not Identical, they changes the size of a bunch of internal ports in the 95 auto trans. So its probably the same other wise but if you want to do work on it be sure you get 95 specific parts or order according to the number on it.

I went to the junk yard and took the trans out out a 1995 dakota to put into my 1994 and have found it to have an 8 or 9 pin connector on it rather than the 3 pin that mine had. I called the transmission shop and he told me it was electronically controlled where mine was not and would not work. I just need to know if I can make it work by installing the wiring and control module out of the 1995.

As in "Manufactured 8/95"? If so, then it's a 1996 Model year.
The VIN will say for sure.
So, I'll bet it's the 4xRE from a 1996, not the 4xRH from a 1995.
To answer your question - Yes, but it's more than just a transmission wiring harness and an ECU; the 1996's got the JTEC instead of the SBEC for 1995.
