Well, finally found a PCM at a local junkyard the other day. Paid $40 for it only to find that it's junk. Doesn't even light up the CEL when you turn the key on. I did test the trigger wire from the PCM to the coil and it's good. It's looking like I'm just gonna have to come up with the money for a new or reman PCM if I want this thing to run.

Seems like the JY should take back the bad PCM and give you another or refund your money.

Normally I would try but the place I bought it is a really backwoods half-*** operation. Not worth the time to try. I would try to exchange it if he had another one but he doesn't.

One of the Forum sponsors does ECM/PCMs..... they have threads posted here and there, wouldn't hurt to check with them.

Forgot about that, I was going to look into that. Can you give me a lead on where to find them on the Forum? I'm still learning how to navigate the site lol.

Thanks. Gotta get this thing out of my buddy's yard soon. His Mom is tired of looking at it sitting in the driveway lol.

Damn, they don't show anything pre-'96. I'll give them a call on Monday.

Default Update

Well, it's been a while so hopefully somebody still cares lol. Finally got a new pcm but no change, still no spark. Bought a new ballast resistor but I'm sceptical as to whether this truck even has one, though I bought a new coil as well and it says right on it "use with external resistor". Anybody know where the resistor is mounted? A picture would be awesome if anyone has a similar truck.
