92 4x4 Actuator

92 4x4 Actuator
Help! New to the forum. I have an 92 Dodge Dakota 5.2L Auto Trans with the crappy auto locking hubs and I'm pretty sure that the 4x4 actuator is bad on it. I had the truck on all 4 to see if the front tires got engaged and no luck. However, I did hear the vacuum trying to make the actuator move so that it would engage the front tires but nothing. I've called a local dodge dealer and they no longer make the part nor does anyone else make a replacement aftermarket one. Also I called up part stores to see about manual locking hubs and no one has that either. Is there any other way to get the 4x4 working properly without having to go to the junk yard and get the same ol 4x4 vacuum actuator? And no I am not doing a front axle swap, don't have the time nor $$ for that. Thanks in advance!

Rock Auto might have the actuator. I've got a 92 sitting in pieces in my driveway i inow the actuator is good, I drove the truck and tested everything before I parked it. But I was planning on selling the entire front diff. Or restoring it and putting it in my 93,with modifications of course

ROCKAUTO does not carry it nor any other part store and that includes Dodge Dealerships. So are you offering to sell your 4x4 Actuator? If so how much? A local junk yard sells theirs for under $20 and if it doesn't work there 30-90 return policy. I do not need the whole front end just the Actuator. Thanks!

Try this link. I believe that this would be the upgrade you're looking for. It'll get rid of the vacuum setup

Why do you "think" its the actuator? If you try to engage it, and you hear vacuum, "hissing?" it is likely a bad vacuum line. But further testing is needed before throwing parts at it.
As far as locking hubs? If you look at the design of the front drive of a dakota, you can see that no hub, auto, or manual are possible. The axle is splined and goes directly into the hub....
