It will bolt up, but will need the 5.2 flywheel (due to the lobes for the crank sensor being different.)

You will probably need a new clutch and pressure plate also (the 5.2 got a bigger clutch and pressure plate.)

Now, the TRANSMISSION may not last as long behind the 5.2 due to the increased torque ... but that depends on how you drive it.

Yes, you'll need a new PCM, and the extra two wires for the two injectors.

I doubt it has the NV3500, since it's factory V6. I'd check the factory service manual and then check the transmission myself to verify which one it is, however

okay thank you very much for the information you've given me so far I looked up on a V8 Dakota swap and the guy in that specific one said that I can just add wires and then plug the wires into my PCM for the last two injectors and this is hearsay now just from people I've talked to and I had one gentleman tell me that it did have a NV 3500 in now I will do more research and find out the correct transmission you have been very helpful though so far in weighing out my options on whether or not I should v8 swap it

Pretty sure you have a AX15. The easy way to tell is look and see if the bellhousing is part of the transmission or bolts to the transmission. NV3500 was part of the transmission. AX15 is in 2 pieces

here is a picture of a nv3500 4wd

You can add the additional wires to your harness, but, you still need a PCM for a v-8. Can't reprogram yours (OBDI), and it won't have a clue about the other two cylinders. Not to mention it'll be REALLY confused by not getting the crank sensor signals it expects from the V-6.... (flywheels are different.)

You have an AX-15. Jeep guys have been running AX-15s behind 360s (some with 408s) w/ success. I will be running a 3.9 AX-15 for my 360 swap as I prefer it over the NV3500. The tq rating between the AX-15 and NV-3500 are said to be actually fairly close to each other. Chrysler went away from the AX-15 because they eventually stopped using Aisin Warner for their suppliers (contracts etc.) not because of durability. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge...ns/manual/ax15
