I have to ask, what do you mean by " a lot of race cars"? We have a ton of racers where i live, and at least 10 dirt and 4 asphalt tracks that i can name off the top of my head, and many more i cant even think of at the moment, and, just in the town i live, including the one i work at, there are at least 15 shops building race cars, or, at the very least, building parts (bodies, engines, chassis) for everything from street/hobby stocks, to crate and big block mods, to trucks. Teo and Bicknell, both of which are big name chassis builders, are less than 3 hours from me.

So not a lot to you; a lot to most places there's no radiator shops.

But yah, we have three race ways at least; Thunder Road, Boot Hill, and Ark-La-Tex.

Thunder Road has had Test/N/Tune days before.

For most folks, that's a lot of tracks. And the drivers there tend to keep Blackburn and Harville both from going broke

With that many tracks around you, I'm VERY surprised if there isn't a radiator shop there.

(We also have at least three starter/alternator/generator rebuilders I know of here in the area; and I'm SURE there's more.)

We do have several alternator/starter rebuild shops around here. Within an hour of my house, for dirt ovals, there is Dundee, Five Mile, Canandaiqua, Woodhull, Rolling Wheels, Thunder Mountain, and, going further out, there is Fulton, Brewerton, Syracuse, Fonda, Utica-Rome, and for asphalt, im 45 minutes from Watkins Glen, Chemung is 35 minutes away, Spencer is about 2 hours (but the drag strip there is currently under remodeling), so is Oswego Speedway, and there are at least 3 dragstrips (ESTA Safety park, Lebanon Valley, Owego) within a couple hours from here, as well as several off road parks. Racing is huge around here. Dirt season opens this weekend, along with the lower classes in asphalt, and the drag strips, weather permitting, are doing test and tunes every weekend before the official late April opener.

There used to be a bunch of machine shops, radiator shops, and auto-electric shops around here...... All the machine shops are gone. I think the nearest one now is more than 30 miles away. There is ONE radiator shop left, and no auto-electric shops anymore that I can find. I live in a heavily agricultural area... so, the farmers likely keep the radiator shop going...... As for the rest..... the recession in 08-09 kinda did 'em in. Employment used to be automotive oriented... but, all that went away with the recession. The economy here still isn't the best, though it is improving, very slowly...... Racing IS a thing here, MIS isn't too far away, along with a handful of dirt tracks, but, none of the race teams are based here, so, not a lot of infrastructure to support them.

I bet the CL in your area will have a ton of older, rust free Dakotas in your year.

Do a search everyday.

The 08/09 recession itself wasn't what did in a lot of the radiator shops; Cash For Clunkers killed several boneyards and related sustain shops.

Recessions are usually good for shops like radiator shops, auto electric shops, and boneyards; C4C killed a LOT of that though.

Yeah, I was truck shopping when C4C was in full swing. It made finding a good used truck difficult, at best. I was actually looking for a chevy, but, the only ones I could find were pushing 200K miles, and they still wanted 10K for them..... That was flat out ridiculous. Ended up finding a 96 Ram 2500 for 2 grand. It needed some work, but, as it turned out, a LOT less than I had at first suspected. Turned out to be a GREAT deal, and I drove that truck for seven years..... Only replaced it because I found a truck I liked better, at a good price..... Still drivin' that one.

Ok now I’ve gotten my truck fix and running good had to also change the water pump since the pulley got smashed in and cracked the housing ( that was only noticeable when engine was up to temperature and under pressure was found) but now I have a air bag light on and I’m kinda weary about it going off while I’m drive I’ve taken the fuse out #3 fuse but the light is still on in the cluster. what can I do to prevent it from going off other than cutting the wires to the airbag itself

If the light is on, the system is disabled. Likely the sensor in the front got trashed, and now the PCM is whining about it.

The airbag is in chapter 8M in the 95 FSM. I didn't read it all. If you have the 96 FSM the chapter title with the airbag was "restraint systems".
