Im hopping I am going for looks and power...
Starting with a 5.9 magnum, stock other then edelbrock 7577 intake , holley 670, hei ignition.
I have already put an electric fuel pump on it. (factory was mech.)
I swapped the nv2500 for the nv3500 transmission,
I put a ford 8.8 rear end in it.
After the fan conversion, along with the wider (HD) radiator, I will be ready for the V8
Latter I may swap heads, EQ, and a little more cam.
But that is about all I have planned.
I have another car for speed!!

Never heard them called Whales; but yah, if I won the Powerball or Megamillions (Curse them and the "buy the ticket before the drawing!" nonsense!! ) I'd drop a "Baby Hemi" Red Ram in and use a 44RH behind it.
It'd be coolness to the max, even if it wasn't a pavement burner.

No doubt, that would be cool, just beyond my abilities and time!!

[QUOTE=RalphP;3449167]I sometimes wish I had gone beefier when I had the 3.9 rebuilt; it'd be nice to be able to merge into interstate highway traffic without planning such a long windup

These trucks ran pretty good in the late 80's by those standards....
But by todays, they are slow.
Heck, even my 1 ton ford service van will give my dakota a run for its money from 0 to 60.....

If you really want to annoy the Chebby guys, the first car to come with one horsepower per cubic inch was the '56 Chrysler 300B with the high compression option. The first car to have one horsepower per inch standard was the '57 DeSoto Adventurer. 345 hp out of a 345 Hemi. Why yes, I am rather unpopular at automotive trivia contests.
If you want to annoy the HoDuh guys, when the question of who sold the first hybrid in America, it wasn't the Honda Insight. The 1914 Wood's Dual power was electric with an onboard gas engine for generation of electricity.

I am going to start a new thread for my fans, But for those who may want to keep a V6 but convert to electric, here would be one solution. This is a intrepid fan.... And the pictures are on the wide radiator." 26 1/4" I think.
FWIW these are 2 speed, designed to run both at the same time, but again 2 speeds..... One benefit to using an electric fan, the AC at idle will work better!
