Solvent wouldn't hurt during the cleaning either. I was surprised at how much gunk was in there. .

Smeared a dab of dielectric grease on two spots. Quiet as a church mouse.

It’s been two weeks since I smeared a little dielectric grease on the ribs of my squeaky drive belt. It immediately stopped the belt squeak and it has not returned yet.

For the record, I saw some guys on You Tube who swear by it. Another guy used foot powder. Others used all kind of stuff. None of them liked belt dressing. Didn’t last and just made a sticky mess out of their engine compartment. The dielectric grease lasts them 6-8 months. I’ll take it.

Squeaky belt returned. Slapped another small dab of dielectric grease in a couple spots on the serpentine and noise immediately went away again. The guy on You Tube that I learned this from said he has to repeat it every 6-8 months. I got 4+ months. Pretty simple fix for squeaky belts.
