At least a dozen panels have come out, with at least half of them strewn across the back yard. These guys should have used paper backed that gets stapled to the wood. What ever they saved on cost will be wiped out when they come back and redo it. The contractor is coming out early in the morning to put heavy plastic sheeting over the roll up door openings. Hopefully that will last until Thursday when the drywall installers get here.
After chasing a dozen+ insulation panels across our backyard (3 times), the wind finally died down around 10 pm. The crew came back early this morning and put up a tarp and heavy plastic over the roll up door openings. Now the insulation will stay put, and the drywall guys can heat the building for the tape and mud. The drywall scaffold goes up tomorrow morning, insulation inspection by the county is Thursday, along with the drywall installation following the inspection. They are shooting to have all the drywall up by Saturday. Another storm system is coming in Sat thru Tue, so we are taking advantage of some good weather for the rest of this week.
Drywall installation started yesterday. The chimney started to go in as well. Unfortunately the drywall crew is a no-show today. The chimney will be completed this afternoon.
Since he was alone (his partner wasn't available), he did as much as he could at ground level. He told me he needs at least two people to work on the ceiling. They were supposed to come back today, but they are a no-show. The next four days we have unsettled weather blowing through. I was hoping they would finish the drywall today. Oh well.
They finished installing the drywall yesterday. My contractor was not happy with the mess they left, so he had one of his guys come by and clean it up. The drywall really made a huge aesthetic change to the building. They are coming back on the 26th to install the two garage doors so they can heat the building. Usually they would be put in after texture and paint, but they can't tape and mud with our temperatures. I am being told the building will be heated for 3 or 4 days before they can proceed, or there will be cracking down the road.
