Paint the trim, install the lights, and the exterior will be finished!

We will need to heat the interior for the mud to be applied. Daytime temps in the shop are 50-52 F.

So, it was 18 degrees this morning at sunrise. Inside the shop it was 48 degrees. Six inch thick walls and full insulation really make a difference! The tape and mud has begun, with two heaters running in the shop and a fan going. I should see the texture and paint by the end of next week. The doors and window are cracked open for ventilation. I will leave one of the two heaters on low overnight hooked up to a 7.5 gallon tank, and see how it works. The heaters are mounted to the top of the tanks, and the tanks are each on a piece of concrete backer board, and at least six feet away from a wall.

YA THINK??!!!

The heaters work well, but tonight will be a test. I intend on putting one one low around 10 pm, and let it run until morning. It's supposed to get down to 21 degrees tonight. It looks to be a little more than 50% complete on the taping so far.

I had one heater run all night on low. I haven't checked the propane level yet, but it was 63 inside the shop this morning. 21 degrees outside.

*Edit* The heater burned around 4 gallons of propane overnight. Those tanks hold 7.5 gallons each.

My contractor was pleased. I will do it again tonight, and then the mud for the taping will be fully cured. Still a lot of drywall screws to mud over before texture. So we will be back to heating on Monday. The taping is finished. We should be textured by Thursday. Then paint. After paint, we only need the finish electrical completed and we can do the floor coating. The last thing will be to put the wood burning stove in and finish the chimney. The stucco trim cannot be painted until Spring. The trim paint requires 48 hours above 35 degrees to apply. Yeah, that ain't happening for awhile!! We are only three weeks into winter! So I guess we get to paint the trim ourselves, after it starts to warm up. It is really looking like the end of this month for final inspection is possible, but it will depend on the schedule for the floor coating. If they are too busy, it will bump into February to finish the stove and chimney.
