1993 dodge dakota, no crank and no power/spark
So this truck finally broke me, it made me create a profile to finally get to the bottom of this
So i got this 1993 dodge dakota for $200
But the issue was no spark and no title( got the title now)
The thing is when i got it, it cranked for like 3 seconds before i stopped and when i tried again it didn't want to crank
side note i did have to put it in neutral for it to wven crank for those 3 seconds
I had this issue before on another 94 dodge dakota a few years back and the issue was a bad wire connection, but i believe that one would still crank but no fire before the problem wire was fixed
What do yall think?
Neutral safety switch ?
Camshaft/crank position sensor?
Pcm?
Thanks for all your help

Good point by Hey You. Get under your truck on the passenger side. Look at the shift linkage. Bushings on both ends. Be sure they are intact. I had similar problem and it turned out the bushing on the outside end of the linkage had crumbled off. If this turns out to be your problem let me know and I can dig up the part number for you.

Keep in mind, you will only get power at either location for a couple seconds at initial key on, after that, only if the PCM sees the engine turning. (crank sensor) If you aren't getting the initial fuel pump prime, then something else is going on. Might try swapping the ASD relay, with another one, and see what happens.

Thanks ill do more testing after lunch, also there is a lose wire ill take a photo of later, it has 3 wires going into 1 and had a connector end to it but the dakotas at the junk yard hav the same 3 wires going into one but no connector end
