Trans problems help stuck on side of road
So was at a stoplight and when light changed I stepped on the gas as usual except there was a loud pop and the truck stopped moving completely like it was in neutral but it was still in gear ,at first I thought drive line immediately but looked underneath and all was intact matter of fact everything I look at is fine but it will not go into any gear I can hear it try i think but now all i get is neutral with a pump wine of some kind can someone help me why would it do this can it be fixed it's never had a problem before at all it has 192223 on the clock and I've only owned it three months someone help me out pls !!!!

Whats weird is the shifter feel is weird and it tryst I think to go into gear but I still have park but no reverse no forward gears it's like something isn't letting it fully drop into gear can I unplug one of the connectors on the Trans and just make it run manual valve body like I have to shift it from 1234 my self I though I read where I might be able to do that idk if it was this truck tho so any help verry appreciated 3 night in the truck stuck it sucks

There is a 1995 factory service manual in the FAQ section. Chapter 21 page 127 has the Linkage Adjustment procedure. If you find it is too different you can get a FSM from Bishko the OE publisher on CD for about $40. Oh yea the linkage is under the driver side just below the pedals. There are several bushings that may be worn out. That would bork things for ya.

Park is purely mechanical. It locks a toothed wheel in place. No hydraulics/electronics involved. Your trans is toast.
