At the throttle body, just push the little black plastic feller forward, and it will come off. (like you were trying to stretch the cable..... not shorten it.)

Logged!

Had another repair piled on me.The multiswitch for the haz lights, wipers and directionals crapped out. Right directional is stuck now. I replaced that switch less than 3,000 miles ago (1.5 years). I never liked that switch. It was always crunchy. I should of rejected it. Well, now it's busted. Ordered another one. A Dorman. I have mixed feelings about Dorman but this particular switch got very good reviews. And I wasn't going to get another MVE switch. Total junk. Got it from Rock Auto. Easy job. Part should be here today (from Amazon).

I haven't had a lotta luck with dorman either...... Most of their parts are cheap chinese crap. Do NOT EVER use their ignition parts..... Unless you like being stuck on the side of the road.....

The plus about Dorman is they make parts that you cannot find anywhere else. I give them credit for that. However, their part quality is hit or miss and more often than not, miss. I was going to get a different brand but the reviews on the Dorman were considerably better and there were hundreds of reviews. I have found decent stuff from Dorman so hopefully it's true here.

If it works, that's all I ask for. Needs to last a while though too...... I would like to think it is hard to screw up making a switch..... but, a distributor cap is even simpler, and dorman simply could NOT get one right for me. I think the one that lasted the longest made it two days, shortest? The engine fired once, and it was done..... Went with an accel cap, that was still on their several years later when I sold the car. (wish I still had it..... but, at the time, I couldn't get OUT of it without help....... )

Yeah I share your sentiment about Dorman. Seems at least half the time I get a Dorman part I end up disappointed.

Anyway, I swapped out the new multi switch. Turns out the tail bulb was burned out <facepalm>.. I somehow knew that was a possibility but I didn't care. I wanted a new multi switch cuz I hated the one I had on it. Whether using the directionals or the high beam, any time I moved that lever it felt like it was gonna break off. Had to literally grab it by hand and lift to turn on the right signal. Couldn't just switch it by tapping it up with a couple fingers. So I don't regret putting in a new switch because this new Dorman is smooth as silk...just like original equipment. Just hope it lasts (as you say).

Do you still drive or did your wife take away your keys yet? I have a buddy with Parkinsons. He was on his way to court to defend himself in a wreck he got in a few months prior and got in another wreck on the way. That was it. His wife took away his keys. Last time he ever drove.

She knows better.... She has whacked her jeep TWICE in the three or four years we have had it, and gotten a ticket or two along the way. Me? No accidents, no tickets, haven't even been pulled over in years. My MS is pretty stable though. I have about 60% use of my right side..... but, the truck is power steering, and auto, so, pretty much a non-issue. I've *adapted* to my limitations, so, I certainly don't drive like I used to..... (I once managed 23 points on my license in less than two years..... all for speeding..... "I don't drive bad, I just drive FAST. )

Sounds like you should take her keys away.
