Manifold Absolute Pressure. It detects the air pressure inside the intake manifold. The PCM uses this to maintain the air: fuel ratio (Specificly playing around with the MAP sensor your trying to lean out the mixture to increase economy). A thing people dont understand is when the car isrunning closed loop the ecu willwork around theMAP alteration.

If it is a closed loop then how does the PCM insert fuel by way of input senerio.

To my knowledgein closed loop the a/fratio isdepicted from theO2 sensors, and since the ECU/PCM uses the 02 sensor to determing the A/F ratio, more oxygen in the exhausts gases *should* result in the ECU/PCM adding fuel to compensate a lean condition. The MAP/MAF works in an open loop. Then again i could be off my rocker and confusing myself even more [:'(]

i think the question is valid and deserves an answer.
also, i think, you are getting too complicated.
does one have to know the construction of the Statue of Liberty to enjoy seeing it and appreciate its message?
point is that it works... Water4Gas works. and i have yet to run into a single person who has actually been a member and applied what is written and come away with any other impression than that it works.how much it works from one vehicle to another is an extremely variable question.
but the best thing to do is to become a member http://water4gas.usafastway.com
and see for yourself.
there is also a help desk accessible to members and therein you will find answers to your tech questions.
personally my Toyota Corolla 1989 has gone from 13 MPG ( a real underachiever ) city to 27 MPG.
so it doubled. also a light on the dash disappeared. i have had the device installed for two weeks.
my story is here.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWsbtiae8GM

That's great. lol I loved this:

"All of these device/schemes seem to promote adding hydrogen to improve the combustion process. There is no way it can improve fuel economy by 50%, or even 5%," said Dr. Robert Sawyer, Professor of Energy Emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley .

I also loved who the author of the water4gas site is:

"According to the bio on his Web site, he was formerly known as Eyal Siman-Tov, and Water4Gas is not his first online venture.

In 2006, he ran a Web site called Magnet4cash.com. It promised that you could "finance your wildest dreams WITHOUT loans," with the goal "to educate you on little-known methods to make fast cash legally…"

Mr. Freedom also invented the "Spongebee," which he describes as "the new all-American flying craze." Further, he is the founder of something called Sane Computers. That Web site has the headline, "New Mind-Blowing Invention Puts An End To... Your Computer Frustrations!"

He's a scam artist, a gimick salesman.
